Celebrity Diner We were once visited by a member of the Royle family, when actor Ricky Tomlinson and a film crew called in our cafe for something to eat. They had been filming around Astley and Leigh for a TV documentary about the coal mining industry, called Disappearing Britain, which was first shown on Channel Five in early 2007.

We have over 30 years experience in the catering trade, having worked previously in various sectors of the business including restaurants, hotels and the leisure and entertainments industry. Little Jak's was established in April 2006 and is named in memory of the owner’s first son, Jak Thomas. For 14 years we also operated as a cafe, but in 2020 we decided to discontinue the cafe and move to different premises in order to concentrate fully on our buffet and catering service.
